I have danced professionally on stages all over the world. I was a dancer and back-up singer for The Cruxshadows, a darkwave gothic electronic band, and performed on their European tours and various shows in the US and the Caribbean from 2010-2012. I also dance for their annual show at DragonCon in Atlanta every year.
Over the past few years I have danced with several companies including the #Taplife company in New York City and the Diamond Squad of Jacksonville.
I hold two Master of Science degrees in Education and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Florida State University (Go Noles). Ironically, I was a professor at University of Florida from 2014-2017 (Go Gators). I currently teach tap dance at Florida School of the Arts in Palatka, FL (Go Oranges?). I teach dance at colleges because I was determined to do what I love for a living but also actually use my Master's degrees. Win.
I am also currently teaching tap and contemporary dance at Abella's School of Dance in St. Augustine, and I choreograph for the St. Augustine Ballet. Additionally, I teach tap dance at two other studios in the Jacksonville area: Arts Edge School of Dance and Theatre and Dynamics Dance.
While most of my work is currently in the dance realm, I do have other passions and talents that I consistently pursue. I am a musician, specializing in several instruments including Drums, Bass Guitar and Violin as well as lead and backing vocals. I also do professional music editing and recording. As a writer, I am a staff writer for a nationally distributed dance magazine, Danz'n, and I am a published author of several fiction and non-fiction titles. I am also a vegan who does not do crossfit.
I live in Fleming Island, FL (that's near Jacksonville and St. Augustine), with my three weirdo roommates and four adorable cats. In my spare time...I do all the things I just listed, so honestly I have no spare time. When I get some time to myself, I do like to do excessive amounts of cardio exercise and watch Star trek. I also love bagels.
